INTENT TO DESTROY RECORDS

The Groesbeck Independent School District will destroy special education records for students who moved from the district, graduated, and/or exited the program during the 2013-2014 school year. Parents or adult students who would like to have a copy of their records must submit a written request by July 15, 2019, to:

What you need to do NOW:

1. Please email or call Mrs. Swick by 1:00 p.m. on FRIDAY, June 14th to let her know if you are planning to attend a STAAR review. Email s.swick@groesbeckisd.net or leave a message at 254-729-4111. Be sure to let her know which one(s) you plan to attend. This will help us to have enough materials ready for students to use.

2. Please email or call Mrs. Swick by 3:00 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, June 19th  to let her know if you are planning to retest in June so that we will have enough testing materials.  Email s.swick@groesbeckisd.net or leave a message at 254-729-4111 (make sure you leave your name and a call back number)

NOTICE of Federal Program Planning
for Groesbeck ISD

 Groesbeck Independent School District is currently in the planning process for the 2019-2020 ESSA Federal Application for the following  programs:

  • Title I, Part A –  Improving Basic Programs
  • Title I, Part C –   Migrant
  • Title II, Part A – Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting
  • Title III, Part A – Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students
  • Title IV, Part A – Student Support and Enrichment Program

Campus eligibility for Title I, Part A is based on low-income data and academic need.  Private Nonprofit Schools and/or Homeschools with government nonprofit status that serve students living within Groesbeck ISD boundaries and that are interested in receiving program information on participation and/or providing input into the program  planning for services for eligible students may contact Dr. Diana Freeman, Assistant, Superintendent,at 254-729-4100 or 1202 N. TEA STAAR Testing Scores Parent Portal

On June 12th, parents can access their child’s STAAR results and a suite of other resources to support summer learning at home by visiting TexasAssessment.gov. Your district will also receive paper copies of the STAAR Report Card (SRC) to distribute to parents over the summer.

Groesbeck ISD will not be participating in the Summer Meal Program this year.  To find a nearby meal site and hours of operation starting June 1:

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Parents must create an account before adding your child(ren).

MySchoolBucks is a website for parents to pay for their child(ren)’s school meals using a credit or debit card. With this online service, parents can also view their child(ren)’s account balance, recent purchases, set up automatic payments, and receive low balance alerts.  You can do all this from the convenience of your home, office, or on-the-go.

Website Notice Regarding the Refusal of Entry to or Ejection of an Individual from District Property

In accordance with Education Code 37.105, the District has the right to refuse entry to or eject a person from property under the District’s control if the person refuses to leave peaceably upon request and:
    1.  The individual poses a substantial risk of harm to any person; or
    2.  The individual continues to behave in a manner inappropriate for the school setting after having received a verbal or written warning to cease the inappropriate behavior.

A person ejected from or refused entry to District property under this provision may appeal this action by filing an appeal under FNG(LOCAL) or GF(LOCAL) and shall be permitted to address the Board in person within 90 days of the commencement of the appeal if the grievance is not resolved at a previous level. [See the following link Board Policy]
