Groesbeck ISD will be providing meals from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the HOW car rider line. This is for ages, 2 – 18 and for the remainder of July.

Rt. #1: Be at Farrar Store by 7:00 A.M. for Pick Up and for the Drop Off be there at Farrar Store by 12:25 P.M.
Rt. #2: Be at Fort Parker Dam by 7:00 A.M. for Pick Up and for Drop Off be there at Fort Parker Dam by 12:25 P.M.
Rt. #3: Be at Old Union Store by 7:00 A.M. for Pick Up and for Drop Off be there at Old Union Store by 12:25 P.M.
Rt. #4: - Be at Kosse Post Office by 7:00 A.M./Be at Thornton Post Office 7:25 A.M. and Drop off be there at Thornton Post Office 12:20 P.M./Kosse Post Office 12:30 P.M.
Students in Groesbeck should be ready for pick up at 7:15 am.
Summary of Practices for Mitigation of COVID-19
All busses will be cleaned and sanitized after each transport.
Drivers will wear masks.
Hand sanitizer will be at the door for student use when loading/exiting.
Students will sit one to each seat during summer school.
There should be no contact between students while on the bus.
Students will exit 6-feet apart and await for temperature check when arriving on campus.

All GISD employees will wear masks.
Masks are optional for students.
Teachers and staff will self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms before coming onto campus each day.
Entrance and exit procedures have been developed to reduce student contact.
Students will eat breakfast and lunch in their classrooms each day.
The number of students per class has been calculated for 6-foot distancing.
All students’ families will complete a COVID-19 screening once each week.
Students’ temperatures will be checked daily at the door before they are allowed to enter the building. A student with a temperature greater than or equal to 100 degrees fahrenheit will be quarantined and sent home after contact is made with their parent(s).
If students have more than one teacher, the teachers will change classrooms and the students will remain in place to minimize students encountering others.
Students will be instructed on good hand washing techniques and proper covering of mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
Hand sanitizers and wash stations are available at each entrance.
Hand sanitizer will be available in every classroom. Students are encouraged to sanitize and/or wash their hands frequently or after touching something that someone else has recently touched.
Students will have scheduled restroom breaks to minimize contact with others.
Restrooms and classrooms will be cleaned and sanitized daily.
Classroom windows will be opened wherever possible to improve air flow allowing outside air to circulate in the room.
Parent visits within the building are not allowed at this time.

INTENT TO DESTROY RECORDS
The Groesbeck Independent School District will destroy special education records for students who moved from the district, graduated, and/or exited the program during the 2014-2015 school year. Parents or adult students who would like to have a copy of their records must submit a written request by July 15, 2020, to:

ATTENTION 6TH GRADE PARENTS: Your child will need vaccinations for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Students all across Texas will need a TDAP and a Meningitis (MCV) in order to register for 7th grade. If you have already done so, please turn a copy of your child’s vaccination record into Nurse Flowers prior to the end of school. If you have any questions, please call Jenny Flowers, RN/School Nurse at 729-4185.
Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a one-time food benefit for families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures. Eligible P-EBT families will receive application instructions from schools in late May. The P-EBT application will open the first week of June.
P-EBT food benefits are for children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020 and children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year. Groesbeck ISD will not be participating in the Summer Meal Program this year. To find a nearby meal site and hours of operation starting June 1:
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
*You will only be sent information needed to find meal sites. Your personal information will not be shared.

GISD School Board General Election POSTPONED
On March 19, 2020, the Groesbeck ISD School Board of Trustees passed a resolution to postpone the School Board General Election on May 2, 2020 to the November 3, 2020 Uniform Election date per the Advisory 2020-12 from the Texas Secretary of State – Elections Division, the Governor has authorized political subdivisions holding general or special elections on May 2, 2020 to postpone their respective elections to the November 3, 2020 uniform election date.
