Hello Groesbeck Goats!

My name is Kelley Copeland, and I come to this role with an immense sense of gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to give back to the community that has been an integral part of my life for the past 25 years.

For many of you, I am a familiar face, having served as a teacher in the GISD family for a quarter of a century. Throughout my journey as an educator, I have had the privilege of working with numerous students, parents, and colleagues, forging meaningful connections that have shaped my passion for education.

I want to take a moment to share a personal connection with this school community. As a proud parent, I have had the joy of seeing my own children, who are students at Groesbeck, grow and flourish within this wonderful school environment. As a parent and educator, I understand the profound impact that a supportive and encouraging school community can have on a child’s development, and I am dedicated to ensuring that every student receives the same level of care and attention that I would want for my own children. 

H.O. Whitehurst Elementary School holds a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I look forward to collaborating with each of you - students, parents, teachers, staff - to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of our young learners.
