GISD is offering its Substitute Classroom Training on November 7th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the GISD Board Room, 1202 N. Ellis St. To substitute in the classroom, you must attend training. If you attended a GISD Substitute Training, you do not need to attend again.

1st Grade Pumpkin Patch field trip was a success! The kids had an amazing time. Thank you to Pastor Ben and the First Methodist Church for hosting our group.

We are proud that our 3rd grade classes will be honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
On Nov. 11, the Veterans Day Program by the Ashburn Hanna American Legion Post 288 will be held at the County Courthouse. The third-grade students will also perform their musical program. The 21-gun salute and the official military “Taps” will be played on the west steps of the courthouse.
Please have your children wear red, white and/or blue in nice dress for both days.

Thank you to Ms. Bolton and the GHS STUCO for coming to H.O.W. this morning to have breakfast and talk to our students about being drug free! What a great way to kick off Red Ribbon Week!

This morning, a fog machine was activated inside the high school gym, leading to a response from the fire department.
The school’s structure is unaffected, and the fog is currently being cleared.
A full investigation will be conducted to identify the individual who entered the building.

What a fabulous Friday. We celebrated the fact that H.O.W. had the highest attendance rate in the district for the 1st 6 weeks of school with bouncy houses and slides today at recess! Way to go kids!
Special shoutout to the amazing Red Brick Entertainment for showing up extra early this morning to set up this surprise. The kids were so excited!
