To become a Substitute Teacher for Groesbeck ISD, you must:
Attend a scheduled Substitute Teacher Training; submit a Substitute Application online; be fingerprinted through TEA/SBEC; complete all required new hire paperwork and submit all the necessary documents.

Ms. Masters' and Ms. Shriver's classes are piloting a new teacher mic/speaker device called Lightspeed.
When students hear every word, valuable teaching time is more productive and effective for all.

Each February we celebrate and honor the history and contributions of Black Americans. This allows us to highlight the achievements, struggles, perspectives, and experiences of Black Americans throughout 400 years of American History. Additionally, Holocaust Remembrance Week is January 22–26, 2024.

The EWIS Father/Daughter Dance will be held on Friday, February 9, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. EWIS young ladies in grades 4-6 are encouraged to attend with their male role model. Cost per couple will be $5.00. Photo booth prices will be sent out soon. There will be a concession stand.

GISD will be on "Regular Schedule" for Wednesday, Jan. 17th. This was determined after reviewing road conditions, school infrastructure, and conditions of our buses.
Please allow extra travel time in the morning, as temperatures remain below freezing.

Due to unsafe travel on many of our back roads, GISD will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 16th. All school events for Tuesday, including practices and games are also cancelled/postponed.
We will continue to monitor road conditions Tuesday to determine Wednesday's schedule.

I am sorry if you have not seen publicity for the Christmas Showcase that is taking place at Enge-Washington this evenng. It is a play being performed by the 5th grade students and a presentation by the ACE Friday Drum Team, along with delicious, hot cocoa.
