Kids Kare Academy Earns Texas Rising Star Accreditation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
GISD is absolutely thrilled to announce that Kids Kare Academy has been awarded the prestigious Texas Rising Star Accreditation! This is a monumental achievement that recognizes Ms. McGruder and her staff’s commitment to providing the highest quality early childhood education environment. The Texas Rising Star program is a voluntary, quality-based child care rating system that acknowledges providers who go above and beyond minimum state licensing requirements.

Our students took aim at learning and laughter today with a festive twist on classroom engagement! With a whole lot of teamwork, they went “turkey hunting” in the hallway—tracking down colorful paper turkeys.
This hands-on activity blended movement, focus, and fun across subjects, sparking smiles and collaboration in every corner. From solving math problems, to finding evidence in passages to answer reading questions, studying and reviewing the Alamo, and digging into the science of energy. Our mixed curriculum came to life in the most gobble-tastic way!
A huge shoutout to HOSA and to Coach Keeton and her 7A basketball team for joining the kids for lunch. We appreciate you all!
Our students had an amazing time exploring the world of work today! They loved meeting so many incredible presenters and learning about all the different careers that help make our community strong. From hands-on demonstrations to inspiring conversations, the kids walked away excited, curious, and full of new ideas for their future!
