The Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) State Grant is a seven- year federal initiative designed to increase early college awareness, readiness, and success for low-income and historically underrepresented students.

GEAR UP has followed the Class of ’24 since they were in 7th grade. The program will continue to support and follow them one year after graduation. Highlights of the program included: college nights, college visits, college test prep, motivational speakers, leadership development, classroom technology and curriculum support, student workshops, parent workshops, college planning, and summer programs. In fact, two of our GEAR UP juniors will be travelling to Washington, D.C.
