About Me

Howdy!

My name is Marcus McGruder and I am excited to be back at GHS as a first year teacher/coach.

I grew up in Groesbeck and was the Salutatorian of the Class of 2016. After high school, I attended Texas A&M University where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

I am currently working on my Master of Arts  in Sociology at Prairie View A&M University.

I am looking forward to a great year at GHS.

Course Description

In this World Geography course, students will embark on an extensive exploration of the Earth's physical and human systems. Rooted in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Social Studies, this course offers a comprehensive examination of the diverse geographies of our world, emphasizing the interconnectedness of regions and peoples.

Course Timeline

1st Nine Weeks: Unit 01: The Spatial World - Geographic Language. Unit 02: Regions and Places - A Variety of Landscapes. Unit 03: Physical Patterns and Processes - Geographic Analysis.

2nd Nine Weeks: Unit 03: Physical Patterns and Processes - Geographic Analysis. Unit 04: Adaptation, Modification, and Extreme Weather - Human Environmental Interaction. Unit 05: The World's Population - Distribution and Settlement Patterns.

3rd Nine Weeks: Unit 06: Human Systems - Political and Economic Patterns. Unit 07: Managing Resources - Development and Sustainability.

4th Nine Weeks: Unit 07: Managing Resources - Development and Sustainability. Unit 08: Convergence, Divergence. and Diffusion - Cultural Patterns.
