GHS seniors have been working on their post secondary plans and taking the next steps towards a bright future! Mrs. Bush and Ms. Dawley visited with the seniors this week and have started the FAFSA process with all students. Both parents and students are welcome to reach out for additional assistance with filling out the FAFSA. Seniors were also informed about the Free Application Week coming up next week that is valid for any Texas public college or university. This is a great opportunity to get those applications in without paying multiple fees. This will run from October 13th through the 19th. The time to apply is now!

A school district’s tax rate is comprised of two components: the Maintenance & Operations tax (M&O) and the Interest & Sinking tax (I&S). The M&O rate is used to operate the school district, including salaries, utilities, furniture, supplies, food, gas, etc. The I&S rate is used to pay off school construction bonds. Bond sales only affect the I&S rate.

Cross Country Coach Matthus Lopez is incredibly proud of the cross country athletes for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. 📢 The Junior High girls finished 4th overall, with Journi Janes earning the title of Girls District Champion! 🏆 The Junior High boys are the District 20 Champions! Mason Lenoir secured 4th place, while Jack Pixler finished in 9th. Parker Meyers, Ryen Harris, Marquez Johnson, and Wyatt Condon placed in the top 20. 🥇 The High School girls qualified for regionals with a commendable 3rd place finish, including two athletes in the top 10: Khloie Marler in 2nd place and Clover Diaz in 9th place. 🎖️ The High School boys also had a strong season, finishing 5th at District, with Diego Lopez placing 13th overall. Way to Go, 🐐!!!!

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO DISCUSS GROESBECK ISD’S STATE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY RATING - Groesbeck ISD will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m., October 20, 2025, in the Administrative Office Board Room, Groesbeck High School, 1202 N. Ellis, Groesbeck. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss Groesbeck ISD’s rating on the state’s financial accountability system, known as the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).
Our teachers had a blast showing off their creativity today for Anything But a Cup Day! From vases and bowls to pitchers and dawn bottles, the staff went all in on the fun. It’s always great to see everyone’s personalities shine through — laughter filled the halls as teachers compared their most outrageous “not-a-cup” creations. Goats know how to bring the spirit — and the fun! ❤️🤍🐐

Many thanks to the Groesbeck Emergency Response Team and our middle school coaches for their quick and professional action when a student sustained a knee injury during football practice this morning. It’s this kind of responsiveness that truly shows what makes our community Goat Strong.

Some of our Advanced Floral Students competed at the Brownsboro Floral Cup today. All students get the same flowers, but can bring their own container and design a beautiful arrangement to be judged against their peers. Today Dallie Bagley placed 4th in the Advanced category and we always have a ton of fun!! Kaidance Hutchison and Whitney Carpenter also competed!! Go girls!!
