#BondFAQ: Why will my ballot read “THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE” if I have an approved homestead exemption?
The Texas legislature passed laws in 2019 requiring all school bond elections to include the following language on the ballot: “THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE”. The state mandates all bond ballots to include this language, regardless of what individual exemptions each voter may have.

GHS seniors have been working on their post secondary plans and taking the next steps towards a bright future! Mrs. Bush and Ms. Dawley visited with the seniors this week and have started the FAFSA process with all students. Both parents and students are welcome to reach out for additional assistance with filling out the FAFSA. Seniors were also informed about the Free Application Week coming up next week that is valid for any Texas public college or university. This is a great opportunity to get those applications in without paying multiple fees. This will run from October 13th through the 19th. The time to apply is now!
