In front of a capacity crowd on both home and visitor's side, Groesbeck had a 16 to 0 lead in less than 10 minutes into the game for one of the oldest football rivalries in Texas! This victory, the first District 8-3A game for both sides, would go to the Groesbeck Goats and the coveted Navasota River Trophy will stay on this side of the river for another year! This is only the third time that we have beaten Mexia IN TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS in the history of the rivalry. Last time was during the 1991-1992 season. Huge congratulations to our team and their coaches on another stellar victory!
