Groesbeck ISD to Provide Free Meals for All Students Through Community Eligibility Provision Groesbeck, TX – June 17, 2025 – Groesbeck ISD is pleased to announce its participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a federal program that allows schools in low-socioeconomic areas to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students—no applications required. Beginning August 13, 2025, all students enrolled at all campuses: Groesbeck High School, Groesbeck Middle School, Enge Washington Intermediate, and H.O. Whitehurst Elementary will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost for the entire 2025-2026 school year. “We are committed to ensuring that every child has access to nutritious meals that support learning and overall well-being,” said -Scott Cummings, GISD Superintendent “Thanks to the CEP program, we can remove the financial burden on families and help students come to school ready to learn.” The CEP is part of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Schools eligible for CEP do not collect meal applications but may gather other information for funding purposes. Parents and guardians with questions about the program or school menus are encouraged to contact Deann King, PEIMS Director/Child Nutrition Liaison. For more information about CEP, visit Square Meals or the USDA Food and Nutrition Service at [https://www.fns.usda.gov/cn/community-eligibility-provision].
